Great venues in Philadelphia

I’ve been living in Washington, D.C. for over 10 years now and usually refer to it as home but as they say “You can take the girl out of Philly but you can’t take the Philly out of the girl”. I’ve developed such an appreciation for all the creative things happening in Philly. While it is a city plagued with many of the problems of  most east coast cities, the down to earth and creative vibe in the arts and music continues to thrive in my hometown. There’s a distinctly unique culture that is reflective in what’s going on around town. I recently learned about two venues The FUEL house and the Crane Arts Center. Both of these amazing spaces remind me of the great history and architecture in Philly. What great places to stage unique, modern events set against the backdrop of a great town. Growing up I spent many summers enjoying the city life, going to museums, having long lunches with my parents in “center city”, doing Sunday dinner shopping at the wonderful Reading Terminal,  shopping at John Wanamakers and wandering around South Street. I’m going home for a visit in a few weeks and will be sure to post about it through a native girl’s eyes. Oh, Philly I still love you and can’t wait for my reason to party!
